About SIAN
I have over a decade’s experience as a successful secondary MFL teacher. During that time, I have taught thousands of students from Key Stage 3-5. During my time as the sole German teacher, the GCSE results went from 35% -72% over a three year period. During my teaching career, my practice has repeatedly been ranked as good or outstanding by OFSTED. Furthermore, in 2016, my classroom differentiation was cited as a model of best-practice by observers from the county council.

I teach French at Key Stage 3 and German at Key Stages 3-5. I also work as a Learning Support Teacher, helping students with a variety of Special Educational Needs to achieve their full potential.
My methods of instruction will vary on the individual student but will primarily consist of short tasks with clear links to the learning objectives. A typical lesson may include pre-teaching of key vocabulary, reading, spelling and writing tasks. I am patient, flexible and my teaching experience means that I am able to anticipate difficulties students may encounter.
