About Barbara
I’m all about languages, culture, and the connections that make life interesting! Having lived in several countries, I’ve picked up a unique perspective that I love to share with my students. My role at the Spanish Embassy in Colombia was a real game-changer; it gave me a front-row seat to the richness of Hispanic culture and a deeper understanding of the role Spanish plays around the globe. Plus, my background in law and politics, combined with my current MA in Geopolitics at King’s College London, gives me plenty of fun stories and insights to sprinkle into our lessons.
I love bringing in topics that matter to you—whether that’s music, travel, food, or the latest Netflix series—let’s make it relatable and fun! Together, we’ll dive into the vibrant world of Spanish-speaking cultures, turning language learning into an exciting adventure.

My teaching approach is rooted in a conversational focus, creating a personalized and dynamic learning experience that aligns with each student's unique interests and goals. The first lesson will consist in a interview, I'll take the time to understand what inspires my students, using their personal interests and academic aspirations as foundation for our lessons. This ensures that the material is not only relevant but also deeply engaging, transforming the learning process into an exciting journey of discovery.
As a native Spanish speaker with advanced English proficiency, I bring a rich multicultural perspective shaped by my experiences living in various countries. I weave elements of Hispanic culture, history, and current events into our discussions, making language learning vibrant and meaningful.
