About Aimee
I have taught violin, viola, piano and music theory lessons for the past 7 years to students of all ages and skill levels. My students have achieved excellent results in ABRSM and Trinity examinations.
My qualifications include: MMus, BMus, LRSM, Dip ABRSM (all with distinction)

Violin:
I teach violin to students of all ages and skill levels.
I am able to prepare students for ABRSM graded exams, but if they do not wish to undertake specific exams, I still believe that it is important to include both technique and repertoire in lessons for optimal progress. I aim to structure each student’s lessons according to their unique needs, abilities and interests. A few key elements to be included are:
• posture
• intonation and left-hand technique
• bow hold and right-hand technique
• tone and sound production
• rhythm
• musicality and phrasing
I am trained in the Colourstrings violin teaching method for very young beginners, and have used this with much success. However, I'm flexible in this regard and aim to optimise students’ progress by keeping their lessons interesting and varied.
Piano:
I teach piano to beginner and intermediate students. I am also able to prepare them for formal ABRSM practical exams. During lessons, I focus on the following elements:
• posture and hand position
• technique
• note-reading
• rhythm
• musicality and phrasing
Music Theory:
I use the ABRSM workbooks when teaching music theory; this enables students to easily take theory exams if they wish to do so. I believe that music theory is extremely valuable for any student, as it nurtures an understanding of music as a whole, rather than of only one instrument.

Deadly! Aimee is really passionate about her lessons. She try’s very hard to keep my daughter motivated. Her friendly approach is needed with little children who find it hard to focus.
