About Lise

I´m just back from 4 years in Mexico where I taught French, English and literature in English. I have a degree in English and a Master's degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language, so I am trained and experienced in teaching methods. I speak English, Spanish and Italian. I have taught in a variety of contexts: teenagers, adults, beginners, intermediate and advanced. I taught general English, Tourism and Catering, Business English. I prepared students for the baccalaureate of English and Spanish, and they did very well! I am very familiar with school programs.

About the lesson

I like to know my student, their hobbies and tastes, in order to adapt my lessons by choosing supports according to what they like, without forgetting the linguistic or grammatical objectives of the course. In general, I just guide the students in their learning, that is to say, they are the ones who must search and find out the purpose of what we are learning and the grammar rules, for example. I like to vary the supports: lessons, online exercises, application of what has been learned by role playing, conversation games, writing exercises with mutual correction, watching videos (movie clips, commercials, excerpts of documentaries, anything that is of interest in relation to what you are learning), guided listening exercises, reading of blogs or articles adapted to the level and the centers of interest of the pupil ; a little song here and there, playing cards, memo rama, online games, just to "breathe" sometimes; whatever the medium, it is always chosen according to the level of the student and the point (vocabulary / grammar / communication) studied. Varying the media in such a way also makes a cultural contribution for the student, who also brings me knowledge by making me discover "their world"; depending on their age, they will show me the interests of youngsters of their age, which allows me to stay "updated".
