About Jessica
Hi, I’m Jess!
I am a full-time Primary School Teacher and TOEFL-certified tutor! I bring a unique approach to ESOL tutoring by combining professional pedagogy and experience.
I hold a PGCE with Distinction and currently teach full-time, ensuring my methods are up-to-date and supportive.
What I bring to my lessons:
Adaptive Learning: As a PGCE-qualified teacher with extensive SEN experience, I excel at breaking down complex English rules into simple, creative steps tailored to your specific learning style.
IT Skills: I am highly proficient with IT skills and computer programmes, which helps to deliver my lessons to you and make learning as interactive, clear and engaging as possible.
Versatility: I have successfully coached students from ages 4 to 16, covering everything from foundational phonics to high-level academic English (GCSE/IB).
Supportive Environment: My background in primary education means I am an expert at creating a warm, encouraging atmosphere where it is safe to make mistakes and grow with support.
I have also lived abroad for 12+ years and mastered Chinese as a second language myself. I understand the journey of learning a new language and how to build on the foundations and steps to becoming a fluent speaker.

Lesson Details:
- 30-45 minutes per lesson
- I recommend 1-2 sessions per week for steady progress
- Remote learning online via Zoom
- Perfect for levels: Beginner (A1) to Upper-Intermediate (B2).
- Ages: Adults (18+) and young professionals.
Goals: Whether you are a newcomer to the country, a professional looking to polish your business English, or a student preparing for life abroad.
In our sessions, we will focus on:
Real-World Application: We practise scenarios you actually face—like calling a doctor, writing an email to a boss, or chatting with neighbours.
Gaining Independence: I provide the support you need at the start, gradually stepping back as your independence grows.
Caring Support: I prioritise "fluency first" to build your confidence, then fine-tune "accuracy" so you sound professional and clear.
