About Bennjoseph
I’m a highly skilled and experienced professional working within health and social care arenas.
I am an award-winning health and social care practitioner and leader, also trained in Theraplay and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy.
Now appointed as Safeguarding Business Partner for Change Grow Live, Director for We Are Frieda and Trustee for Galop.
As a lived experience leader and activist I am passionate about driving forward systemic change and reformation, by amplifying the voices of people and teams I support and work alongside, holding people and systems to account, celebrating best practice.
Over the last 13 years I’ve gained experience working across the health and social care field, including statutory and third sector settings, taking a lead on wellbeing and safeguarding throughout this time.
I engage in a trauma responsive, holistic and intersectional approach, to empower people and to see each person as an individual. Authenticity and integrity are key.
I have taken an active role in Serious Case Reviews, Domestic Homicide Reviews, Child Death Overview Panels, and other multi-agency forums in relation to understanding and responding to all areas of safeguarding.
I’m able to draw upon my learned and practice experiences in children and families social work, specialist trauma services, domestic abuse intervention with survivors, children/young people and perpetrators, crisis mental health practice, palliative care, substance misuse, sexual violence and rape, cumulative trauma, mental ill health, bereavement, imprisonment, homelessness, serious violence, exploitation and more.
As a survivor of domestic abuse, LGBT hate crime, coerced consent and homelessness, I am motivated to change individual people’s worlds, one at a time. My hope is for every person to find a space free from injustice, harm and abuse, but rich with safety and happiness.
Creating opportunities for inclusion for everyone is important to me. I have a particular interest with the LGBTQ+ community, understanding the unique challenges they face, responding to and overcoming prejudice and barriers.
Other passions and interests include raising my 2 year old daughter, a love of animals, horse riding, spending time in the countryside, experiencing culture whilst travelling to new places, spending time with family, enjoying meals out, and home cooking. You can’t beat self-care and escapism!

I’ve delivered formal training in homelessness, substance misuse, domestic abuse, sexual violence, serious youth violence, exploitation, palliative needs, safeguarding, mental health, trauma and more.
I have supported people fresh into their health and social care careers through to achieving senior leadership positions.
