About Kathleen

I am a retired marketing and product development professional with a college degree in art and a lifetime filled with experience to share. I display honesty, integrity and discipline.
After training with the North Carolina Education Corps, I have been a reading tutor for Guilford County Schools since 2022. My vocabulary, spelling and grammar are exemplary.
I have fallen in love with tutoring students who need that one on one attention. Over 30 elementary students in grades K-4 have improved their reading skills and gained confidence in their abilities to progress and improve on testing since working with me.

About the lesson

In person or virtual tutoring for elementary students who need help with reading and phonics. Using the science of reading, I teach:
Phonemic awareness
Phonics
Fluency
Vocabulary
Comprehension
Preparing students for success in class and in the world by raising their knowledge and confidence.

My rates are negotiable depending on your situation and if you have multiple children for a class. I create my own materials and have purchased many manipulatives that I use to make lessons fun and understandable.
