About Brenee
I have always liked writing and reading. That's why I majored in English Education for my undergraduate degree. But when I had the opportunity to live in Spain and learn Spanish for a year, my love for language exploded. I had a greater appreciation for why and how languages worked. I also gained an appreciation for the challenges of learning said workings. Now, every opportunity I get, I teach, guide and support students on a similar learning path. It's not always in the classroom, either. When I am participating in outdoor adventures like kayaking or surfing, I always meet people who use language differently. I can't help but to somehow weave language into even casual conversations. You could say I'm somewhat of a language nerd. The place I talk about the importance of words and word use the most is in my home. As a homeschool mom, I am always teaching, directly and indirectly, and language comes up often. Finally, my love for language allows me to appreciate word play in movies and at comedy shows. Nothing makes me laugh harder than a good play on words.

As a lover of languages, I understand the challenges of learning the nuances of a language. That's why I always start with figuring out your "why," or the motivation behind why you want to have a tutor. The reason we want to improve in an area, like language, matters in our approach in doing so. Through training from my Master's degree and over 20 years of teaching, I can help you figure that out and quickly move toward reaching your learning goals. I can do this for elementary students, high school students, and adults, whether English is your first language or not. I look forward to going on this journey with you!
