About Minnie Stella

I’m currently in my final year at the University of Bath, having just completed a year at Sciences Po Paris, studying International Politics and French. The reason I want to tutor English is because I developed a deep passion for the language and the literature during my school years —despite initially disliking it! Thanks to an inspiring teacher and a growing appreciation for storytelling and language, I went on to become the top student in my year, achieving an A* in English Literature, an A* in Sociology, and As in Spanish and my EPQ. Today, I’m a keen writer (I run a blog: (concealed information) and I’ve been tutoring English for the past year, particularly helping French-speaking children. I love helping students gain confidence and develop a genuine enjoyment for learning.

I am happy to tutor a wide range of students of any age whether it be teaching English as Foreign Language or helping with understanding of English Literature itself.

English Literature &Language:
Support with essay writing, text analysis, creative writing, comprehension, and exam preparation.

Education Support:
Help with homework, revision strategies, and exam technique across subjects like English, Spanish, French, Sociology, and Politics.

Confidence Building:
Gentle, encouraging support to help students who feel overwhelmed or unsure, whether in reading, writing, or speaking.

Grammar & Foundational Skills:
Tailored lessons for students who need help with English grammar, sentence structure, or reading fluency.

Language Learning:
As a French and Spanish speaker, I can:
Support English-speaking students learning French or Spanish
Help French or Spanish speakers learn English as a foreign language.

Lesson Plan – What to Expect

Every lesson is tailored to your child’s needs, but here’s a general idea of how a typical session might look:

Warm-Up (5-10 mins): A fun game, vocab activity, or quick grammar check-in to get focused.

Main Learning (30-40 mins): Focused work on reading, writing, speaking, or comprehension skills, depending on the student’s goals. This may involve working through a school text, tackling an essay question, or learning a grammar rule in an interactive way.

Confidence Builder (10 mins): A creative task like writing a short paragraph/story, discussing a book, or role-playing a conversation in another language.

Wrap-Up & Feedback (5 mins): Recap what we’ve learned, set small goals, and offer encouragement.
