To paraphrase the old saying, if you give someone a fish, you feed them for a day. If you teach them to fish, you help feed them for a lifetime. I enjoy assisting students develop the tools that they need to succeed. I have tutored students from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels in reading and writing, during which time they displayed significant growth. My students and peers have described me as patient, compassionate, conscientious, and driven. I believe in student-centered instruction and design learning to meet the diverse needs and interests of my students. My goal is to help students not only pass classes, but prepare for college and/or competitive employment. It is important to me that students have fun while learning, and that I use their learning styles to create interactive, engaging lessons.
