About Christopher
I am a qualified English teacher with experience teaching GCSE, A-Level and Further Education students, as well as supporting learners with a wide range of educational needs. Alongside my classroom teaching, I am completing a PhD in English Literature, with research focused on contemporary fiction and literary theory.
I have presented my research at university conferences and academic events, giving talks on literature and critical theory, and I enjoy helping students engage with texts in a thoughtful and accessible way. Deadly! Christopher has been tutoring my son in primary maths and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is warm and friendly and has a real gift for relating to children.
My son is very shy and does not like any kind of school work, yet he sits down and works willingly with Christopher every single session.
He stretches my son with something a little more difficult at just the right moment and he always makes sure the step before has been learned thoroughly before adding a more complex one. Nothing is rushed and nothing is left half understood.
