I am a former qualified and admitted advocate but my passion is the English language . I have lectured English including Legal and Business English at a private college in Cape Town for the past 14 years. I love teaching and sharing my knowledge and passion for the language with students

I am a firm believer in the Socratic method - teaching by means of asking questions and eliciting answers. I also believe that vocabulary and fluency are paramount, although not at the cost of a sound understanding of grammar. Furthermore I think that teaching the language should be tailored according to the student's specific needs. I use humour and practical application all the time in my teaching because I believe that if real learning is to take place, it must at all times be fun (for both student and teacher alike).
