About Leora
I’m Leora! I'm a teacher with a strong passion for reading, writing, and thinking through complex ideas. One of my core teaching beliefs is simple but powerful: asking questions. Rather than focusing on perfection, I encourage students to investigate their own thinking, build confidence in their ideas, and arrive at answers independently. This tried and true method helps students develop critical thinking skills, become more confident communicators, and create lasting foundations for academic success both in the classroom and beyond.

My tutoring approach focuses on inquiry-based learning, helping students strengthen writing, reading comprehension, and critical thinking. Lessons include skill-building, guided practice, and detailed feedback. I create a supportive and judgment-free environment and work with elementary through college students. I also offer English test preparation services, including the New York State English Language Arts Exam and Regents.
