About Amanda
I am an experienced and highly educated English tutor, able to engage with and support students from primary (KS1 and KS2) and secondary through to degree level. I hold a BA in English Literature from the University of Leeds, and a Masters in Creative Writing (Distinction) from the University of Westminster.
I have a genuine love for learning and a passion for delivering results. I pride myself on my ability to connect with my students and build a strong foundation of trust and mutual respect, on which we can establish goals and work towards them together.
I have extensive experience tutoring and supporting primary school children with special educational needs including autism, global developmental delay, ADHD, ADD and challenging behaviour. I currently work part-time in a primary school supporting a year 3 pupil with a diagnosis of autism and global delay.
I am friendly and approachable, firm but fair. I recognise and understand that every student requires a unique and individual approach, and I model and nurture courageous and curious behaviour, fostering creativity and productivity in every interaction.
Away from teaching, I am a published writer and am married with two daughters. My interests include performance poetry, creative and technical writing and ancestral research. I am a qualified ACAS mediator and hold a current first aid certificate. I have an enhanced DBS certificate.

Recommendations

Amanda was a brilliant help with my 2 primary school children in helping with their English, punctuation and grammar. Her friendly approach really put my 2 at ease and they have come on leaps and bounds at school.
Mrs. Amanda Fuller accepted me as a private student, taught me basic English and grammar skills, along with Creative Writing. Not only did I learn what I needed from Amanda, she gave me confidence and showed me how to make progress in my chosen field, plus pointers on editing and proof reading. In a matter of months, not only was I able to learn what I needed, but gained enough skill to publish my first novel. Since then, I have gone from strength to strength, with three novels published, plus three poetry and short story books. Whether it be poetry, prose, storytelling or just acquiring basic English skills, I highly recommend, Amanda Fuller.
