About Chari
Patient, calm, and thoughtful, I will provide wonderful lesson content allowing students to learn English in an encouraging environment. I have experience teaching in the BC public education system through my practicum program at university. I am knowledgeable on how the brain learns and what teaching techniques allow students to retain information. I have led one-on-one tutoring sessions and workshops for more than 20 people.

My lessons involve reading, writing and pronunciation. Each student will have personalized lesson content depending on their personality and grade. In general, my lessons involve teaching through hands-on practice. Students will read texts and I will improve their reading comprehension through asking questions and explaining vocabulary. Through providing thought-provoking prompts, students will practice writing. I will teach them how to write better by providing advice on writing style, tone, and grammar. Pronunciation will be taught through reading out loud, sounding out words, and learning phonetics. Students will be asked to be taught inquiry skills and note-taking skills that will carry them throughout their academic career.
