About Paula
Qualified accountant (CIMA) and MBA from Henley Management College where my dissertation explored the psychology of branding. Having many years post-qualification experience as a senior manager in Blue Chip companies, I not only understand the theory, I can bring the subject alive through real life examples. My particular strength is making sometimes complex finance matters straightforward and understandable. I had first-time passes in my CIMA exams, so I also “get” how to pass exams. I’m passionate about developing others, and am accredited to perform psychometric testing (Thomas International). In my corporate career I have successfully mentored several High Potential managers as part of a formal management development programme, I find helping others develop and learn hugely rewarding, so if you are willing to learn I’m ready to help! My most recent student went from failing her undergraduate accountancy module, to a First on re-take following my help and tuition, which made us both very happy. Feedback from another parent was wonderful to receive too (used with permission): "Paula helped my daughter with her Business Studies A level. It was clear that Paula had researched the syllabus and lessons were targeted, focused and real life analogies were used to help with understanding. My daughter's confidence really improved. Paula is currently tutoring me in A-level business. Sessions are specifically tailored to my individual needs and we regularly discuss how well particular techniques are working for me. She is patient when I don't understand and since starting sessions with Paula I can feel my confidence continually growing. She is also very easy to contact and typically replies within half an hour.

Really struggled with some aspects of GCSE Maths, Paula offered to help as she had a good grasp of the subject. A very patient tutor who taught by guiding rather than leading- if I ever found a problem too difficult Paula would come up with other ways to approach the solution so that I could understand the whole process from start to finish.
