Well, definitely it's easy to say become a screenwriter! Follow your passion! But truly, at the end of the day, there's only one question that lingers in our minds... do we really make money in screenwriting? Does it really pay off for what I write?

Trust me it does if you truly know a screenwriter's work or career scope in making ends meet to live as one. I'm living proof.

I've worked in production for 29 years . I've worked in all departments in production and in the midst, I pursued screenwriting.

I've been a full-time scriptwriter for 20 years now and my sole income to live life comes from screenwriting. I've written over 50 programs for TV stations, local and abroad. And for other mediums such as radio, advertisements, corporate websites & videos, YouTube and social media content.

Having written all types of program categories such as film, telefilm, radio drama, one-off and episodic tv drama, tv magazines, documentaries, animation, voice-over, radio jingles, tv ads, YouTube videos and social media content... I can assure you that I'm pretty versatile. This includes all genres of storytelling. Melodrama, drama, comedy, action, rom-com, horror, suspense, thriller, mystery, educational and more... you name it! I've been there and done that.

No, I'm not self-made nor learnt by heart... I studied screenwriting in Finas, did an extensive course in screenwriting for TV from Aswara, attended international workshops from Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and did a masterclass in screenwriting from London Metfilm School.

I've done personal workshops for university students in screenwriting since 2015. Reaching 50 next year, I'm ready to share my screenwriting skill and industry insight.

I assure you that you will leave the class feeling contented and more confident to become a screenwriter in reality!

About the lesson

In this millennial, screenwriting is not just about film! There is more to it. There is also screenwriting for TV, Radio, OTT, YouTube, Social Media Content Creation, advertisements and even gaming! They all share the same underlying basic requirement which is SCRIPT and nothing but SCRIPT.

But they all differ in scriptwriting methods and storytelling approaches. They expand into many layers according to their requirements, where they will be screened or aired and who is their target audience.

Apart from learning scriptwriting, as a scriptwriter, if you do not know how the scriptwriting industry works, do take a step back. You may end up feeling disappointed and helpless for not being able to follow your passion! But in reality, there are ways you can engage yourself as a screenwriter.

These are 4 major lessons I offer in my scriptwriting course.
1) General types of scriptwriting - Total of 10 classes.
2) Basic fundamental scriptwriting techniques - Total of 10 classes.
3) How to find your niche in scriptwriting? - Total 5 classes.
4)Where and how to work as a scriptwriter - Total 5 classes.

So if you're up for a real deal to become a scriptwriter, this is where you want to engage yourself with.

I teach online classes and meet-up sessions upon request.

Each lesson is conducted for 60 mins with extra 30 mins for interactive sessions. You can choose any of the lessons as a stand-alone subject you wish to learn.

But I would strongly suggest that you go for package lessons. Package lessons 1 & 2 and Package lessons 3 & 4 respectively. Even better if you take all 4 lessons in order to prepare you to step into the industry as a player.

My approach to my lesson is to give you as much information and insights about the lessons that I'm offering. Trust me, the first step to becoming a scriptwriter is to gain as much as knowledge possible. In everything perhaps!

I also offer continuation of extensive lessons in those areas, if you're happy with what you have learnt! As a professional screenwriter, I don't want to give you false hope. You can't learn everything in one go! Unless it's basic but for in-depth scriptwriting nuances, do spend a substantial amount of time learning the true art of scriptwriting and the whole science behind it. Did I say science? Yes, you will be surprised how true is that!

My lessons are suitable for newcomers, beginners and intermediates. On top of that, my lessons are suitable for those who really want to take up screenwriting as a job or career.
