About Neenah
As a dedicated fourth-year English student at the University of Florida, I bring a well-rounded perspective to tutoring. Having experienced both sides of the learning process--being tutored and tutoring students in elementary, middle, and high school--I understand the importance of patience, clarity, and encouragement. This background helps me connect with students easily and create a supportive atmosphere where they feel understood and motivated. My approach is steady, organized, and individualized. I take time to identify each learner's strengths and areas for improvement and build lessons that help them move forward with confidence. Whether a student needs assistance grasping reading concepts, improving writing techniques, or strengthening general English skills, I provide guidance that is reliable and thoughtful. I offer a personalized, friendly, and supportive tutoring experiences for students in all grade levels. My teaching style is flexible and student-centered, allowing me to adjust my methods to best suit each learner's needs, whether they thrive with creative exercises, discussion-based learning, step-by-step modeling, or structured guidance.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous work to identify the student's strengths and areas that may benefit from extra focus. I then introduce a specific skill, such as grammar, creative writing, essay organization, or reading comprehension, and guide the student through examples and targeted practice. Throughout the session, I provide comprehensible explanations, encouraging feedback, and patient support to help students gain skills and confidence.
What sets me apart is my strong background in reading and writing. I have published work, as well as editorial and writing experience, which allows me to teach students real-world communication skills. I am also very passionate, diligent, and thorough, making sure each lesson feels meaningful and tailored to the individual student.
My lessons are ideal for elementary, middle, and high school students who want to improve reading comprehension, enhance writing skills, receive homework or essay support, or gain confidence in English. My goal is to help students become stronger, more enthusiastic readers and writers while feeling fully supported every step of the way.
