About Isabelle

I have 15 years of work experience with exposure to education and management. I am a French native who has lived long enough in England to feel English with an accent. I also lived for 3 years in Spain. I speak French, English and Spanish. I am a friendly person with a strong sense of responsibility and good organisation skills. I run private tuition in French at all levels, from beginners to Advanced including A level and support learners in preparation for their exams. My work included running different classes independently as a self-employed tutor and working with different schools as a teacher in Harlow and Brentwood (outstanding rated Becket Keys church school). I also worked with the Premier League, teaching A level French in Tottenham Hot Spurs with A and A* results. I'm currently teaching Spanish GCSE as a Tutor in a private college in Hendon.

About the lesson

I support learners in preparation for their exams with different exam boards. All my learners have had a pass of 5 and above. In my A level I have managed to secure an A and A* for some of my English students. For the preparation of the exams, I use the specifications of the exam board in listening, speaking and writing and assess them regularly with feedback and markings and emphasis on their needs. The informal classes for adults and young children are mostly based on conversation to enhance their ability to communicate with confidence. I understand that learning a foreign language can be challenging having been through it myself. In order to help them build their confidence and make the lessons more interesting and fun, I use a variety of authentic materials which I have gathered throughout the years, student books of all ages and levels, videos and games to gain a deeper insight into the language and culture. This methodology works with everyone, including GCSE and A level students!
