About Calum

I am Paleman, a well known UK underground producer, I have released on multiple well known UK and Berlin labels producing techno, UK bass music/dubstep and experimental dance music for around a decade. I have extensively toured the world playing my music. More recently I have been composing for tv and film and releasing experimental cinematic work under the alias “Fresnel Lens” alongside my continuing work as Paleman.

About the lesson

I want to help you find your sound, mix your tracks, and find creative ways of shaping timbres, arranging tracks and producing quality electronic music to a releasable standard. I can help you find a sonic signature, and show you methods to creatively find your own voice and realise it with technical and practical production knowledge using hardware or software.

I want to inspire you to create innovative, and unique music and teach you to critique and to eventually have the knowledge to teach yourself. I have a degree in Jazz Drums so I can also provide extensive rhythmic knowledge and melodic and harmonic tuition. Logic X, Modular Synthesis and vast plugin knowledge available. We can work in my home where I have a comfortable studio room and a vast collection of modular synths, outboard equipment and desktop synths - we can get deep into production methods or go for the basics, it's up to you!
