About Mellisa

EYFS - TO YEAR 6 - SATS 11+
**Class teacher since 2019**

Hello my name is Mellisa, I live in the UK and am a primary school teacher. I come from a large family and as the oldest siblingi have always been the one to pass on tips and tricks to my younger siblings. I loved helping out and knew I always wanted to be in a career that would make a difference hence teaching.

I have taught in all year groups in a range of educational settings. Therefore I have gained a wide skill set which allows me to adapt to a child's individual needs. My role in schools have allowed me access to many different resources and teaching approaches. Which I am constantly adding to or adapting. I also know what schools expect from their pupils and that is why I am able to work along with their expectations and deliver useful knowledge to your children.

As a tutor, I have the ability to detect the strengths and areas for improvement for my students and plan along with thier needs. The most important goal for me is to create a love for learning and make learning lifelong instead of "we are going to learn this for the test". I work hard to help my students feel safe and secure and willing to achieve

About the lesson

I am offering tutoring to children aged 5-12. Assisting with primary English. I have 3 years experience in teaching with proven records of helping children achieve thier goals. I'm flexible in my methods and adapt lessons to fit the needs of the learner. I love to keep my lessons as practical as possible and give children real life, hands on experiences. In English I can assist in phonics, spelling, reading and writing. A typical lesson will last around 1hr.
