About Miss K's
I’m an experienced GCSE English teacher, exam-board marker, and Head of Literacy, Oracy and Communication at a local secondary school. I’ve spent years helping students of different abilities make significant progress in English, with a strong track record of outcomes above national averages.
I’m genuinely passionate about teaching and known for an energetic, straightforward approach that makes difficult ideas feel manageable. Students regularly encourage me to tutor and create English content outside the classroom, which led me to begin offering private tuition.
Alongside teaching, I create GCSE English revision resources and educational videos, simply because I enjoy finding new ways to explain texts, writing skills and exam technique. I want students to understand not just what to do, but why it works — and to leave lessons feeling much more capable than when they arrived.”

My lessons are highly personalised and focused on the areas that will make the biggest difference to each student’s GCSE English results.
With 12 years' experience as a GCSE English teacher, and a current exam-board marker, I understand not only what students are expected to know, but how their responses are actually assessed. I use that insight to identify gaps quickly, strengthen written responses and teach students exactly what examiners are looking for.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are suitable for GCSE English Language and Literature students, whether they are working towards securing a pass, aiming for Grade 5+, pushing towards the highest grades, or preparing for a resit.
I have a strong track record of securing outcomes above national averages in my Year 11 classes, and with my tutoring students. Every lesson is tailored to the individual student: we focus on the skills that will have the greatest impact, practise effective exam technique and develop the independence needed to perform confidently under exam conditions.
