About Pamela

I’m a Psychology with Sociology graduate with over 12 years experience teaching health and social care in both, colleges and schools across London and Kent. With an excellent understanding of the various health and social care qualifications’ requirements, I support students improving their understanding of health and social care from Level 1 up to Level 5. My lessons naturally incorporate coursework support and exam preparation. My ultimate goal is to improve students’ Job opportunities and/or ability to enter their chosen higher education course. I achieve this by supporting students to develop skills, which are essential for attaining excellent grades in health and social care qualifications.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching involves the following steps;
1.Initial assessment- this is where I check the students level of understanding and discuss the grade the student would like to achieve. I may request to see the student’s work to date to better identify the main areas in need of development.
2.Create an action plan- the student is given a plan of what we will cover each lesson and how it will lead to the desired grade. Here, I attempt to move a step ahead of what the student is learning at school/college, although this isn’t always possible as it depends on how often I see the student.
3. Undertake action plan with regular checks of knowledge and understanding.
My lessons include a variety of tasks with proven techniques to help the student memorise information. I also offer assignment support and exam preparation.
Lessons are undertaken online and include a variety of online resources.
