About Mary
It is my pleasure to get to know many lively, diverse personalities in the course of doing what I love. I am famliar with many types of learners, and relish the variety of experiences that comes with engaging every student, from the intense overachiever to the reluctant learner. As a professional educator of nearly two decades, I honor the boundaries between student and teacher while also fostering a sincere, personal connection with my pupils. I like to work students' interests into our lessons in order to increase engagement and help to make learning fell less like work.

My goal as a teacher is to make sure you are engaged while you are learning! I want to honor the beauty of literature and writing while also making it fun and accessibe. We all have brilliant thoughts and ideas that we need to be able to communicate effectively. Regardless of your age, I want to help you experience the confidence that comes with having a good command of grammar and writing. My background in Creative Writing and my 16 years of experience teaching high school English can all come into play for great lessons.
