I love History. It is a wonderful, but complex subject. I aim to find out what your needs and concerns are and then advise you as to the best way forward, whether that is with assistance in essay technique, content learning, or practice exam questions.

David Knight is an especially trustworthy tutor, he taught me throughout my school career and provided outstanding support and opportunities. Especially in 6th form Mr Knight took special care to have 1 to 1s with me to support my learning when it was not required, and always went through feedback in depth and detail that meant I felt improvement in my work was not only encouraged but recognised by him in a way that was uplifting. Mr Knights teaching style, likewise, is detailed, and he creates an environment where curiosity and debate it encouraged but within a safe environment. Anybody would be lucky to have him as a tutor.
David taught me multiple subjects during my school years, most notably history for which he had an obvious passion. This made him an engaging teacher who sparked in me a genuine interest in the subject matter.
I also remember David treating his students with respect and like adults whose opinions were welcome and valued. He was not one to create an air of tension or intimidation and his classroom always had a friendly atmosphere. He actively encouraged us to speak our minds and join in conversations on the topics and this led to him being very popular among my peers. I remember David fondly as one of my favourite teachers as well as one of the most effective.David taught me from year 9 to 11 and then during my A levels was my supervisor for my EPQ. His passion and enthusiasm for history is obvious and is what makes his lessons enjoyable and more interesting. As having a teacher with a true passion for there subject makes a huge difference. His feed back on essays was always very useful and he would talk you through areas that needed improving as well as areas that were good. He was very good at explaining and helping to improve work as well as the general teaching of a subject. He is also very easy to talk to and always makes time for his students. I would definitely recommend him as a teacher and was one of the best from my secondary school.
David was my History teacher for my A-levels and he would be a fantastic help for anyone seeking history tuition at any level of their studies. He is friendly, funny and kind, and history with him will always be interesting and academically stimulating, but at the same time fun and entertaining. He is also very generous with his time and attention, and will always do his absolute best to help you with anything. With him as my teacher, I got an A* for my A-level History - I would definitely recommend him!
David was a very good teacher during my sixth form education, I really enjoyed his teaching style for History. For example, he used a mixture of useful PowerPoints and teaching in more of a lecture style.
David was my secondary school history teacher for a number of years and did a top job! Definitely knew his stuff and wanted to teach you what was in the book and more. I have good memories of fun ways he would think up to help us learn. He was also always happy to answer questions that veered slightly from the curriculum. Would happily recommend David to anyone!
David taught me history whilst I was in secondary school, and taught my EPQ skills classes when I was doing my A Level’s. David’s teaching is very engaging and subject material is always delivered in a way that makes information memorable and interesting. David is also very approachable, easy to talk to and always provides constructive feedback on work.
David was my tutor between 2007 and 2012. He is a very patient, kind, supportive and enthusiastic person. He has an extensive knowledge of History and teaches with a huge amount of passion for the subject. I wholeheartedly recommend him.
David taught me and I believe he’s an outstanding teacher. He always went above and beyond to ensure I understood everything. He made history an extremely enjoyable subject! I definitely think he’s a trustworthy tutor.
I could not recommend Mr Knight more. He is patient and takes the time to ensure everything is understood thoroughly. He is incredibly knowledgeable of history, and capable of explaining in many different ways to ensure the best understanding. You can tell he is passionate about history and therefore this made the lessons far more enjoyable and engaging.
His lessons have stuck with me from my first year at sixth form, all the way through to my final year of university. I was very lucky to have David as my teacher, he inspired confidence and encourages conversation amongst his students that really help them engage with a passion for history.
He was my history teacher in school, he always encouraged me to work to my full ability, to push myself & be the best I could be.
David always had a positive attitude which helped us to feel motivated & excited about his lessons.
All round David was a brilliant teacher & any student would be lucky to be taught by him.View more recommendations
