About Alfred
My name is Alfred Sana Mabena, and I am a BA Communication Science graduate with journalism, digital media, and content creation experience. I have gained valuable experience through work connected to SABC, freelance journalism for GroundUp, and running my own digital news platform and YouTube channels.
I believe learning English should be practical, engaging, and encouraging. My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions, improve at their own pace, and develop strong communication abilities for school, work, and everyday life.
I am patient, professional, and committed to helping students achieve their goals, whether they want to improve grammar, essay writing, conversational English, comprehension, or overall confidence in the language.
I enjoy working with students from different backgrounds and levels, and I always aim to make lessons supportive, interactive, and productive.

As a BA Communication Science graduate with journalism experience, I bring practical real-world communication skills into my lessons. I help students not only understand English academically, but also use it confidently in everyday life, school, university and professional settings.
My lessons are suitable for school learners, university students and adults looking to improve their English skills, essay writing, presentations, business communication or spoken English.
I am fluent in isiNdebele and can also communicate in other Nguni languages (isiZulu, isiXhosa, Siswati) and Sepedi , which helps me support students from different backgrounds more effectively.
