About Amelia

My name is Amelia and I am currently studying Economics and Politics at UCD. I achieved a H1 in French in my Leaving Certificate, including 95% in the oral examination.

I have a genuine passion for the French language and culture, and I love helping students develop the same enthusiasm and confidence. I spend much of my free time in Paris, where I practise my French with the locals and immersing myself in everyday French life.

As a French grinds tutor, I aim to make learning enjoyable, engaging and effective. As a recent graduate, I understand the importance of building a strong foundation in grammar and vocabulary while also developing the confidence to speak and communicate naturally in French.

My goal is not only to help students achieve their best possible Junior Cycle results, but also to build their confidence and appreciation for the French language.

About the lesson

I offer personalised Junior Cycle French grinds designed to help students improve their grades, build confidence and develop a genuine understanding of the French language.
My lessons are structured around each student's individual needs and the Junior Cycle curriculum. We focus on essential grammar, verb tenses, vocabulary, sentence structure, reading comprehension, written work and oral preparation.

Each week, students receive tailored homework to reinforce what we have covered, including vocabulary learning and written exercises. I also regularly test key vocabulary to encourage consistency and help students retain what they learn.

I have experience helping students improve their results, including supporting a student in progressing from a Merit to a Distinction. My aim is to make French more manageable and enjoyable while equipping students with the skills and confidence they need for their exams.

I provide a friendly, patient and encouraging learning environment where students can ask questions, work at their own pace and strengthen areas they find challenging.

One-to-one grinds are available in Dublin, with lessons tailored to each student's ability and goals. Group grinds may also be available on request. If your student is doing their leaving cert or you just want to learn French yourself and see not in school, give me a text and we can try arrange something!
