About Martin
I'm an experienced teacher and native speaker of German and French, originally from Luxembourg now living in Glasgow. I'm 31 and recently completed a PhD in Comparative Literature, writing on English, German, and French literature at the University of Warwick. I have over eight years of experience teaching language and literature at university and secondary level.

I've always been fascinated by languages, how they develop and cross over, and I convey that enthusiasm in my teaching, so that students see the fun in learning a new language. I use the first class to assess the student's level and areas for improvements. For beginners, my teaching is often based around visual materials - images, maps, drawings - especially if the student is a visual learner. For intermediate students, it becomes very much about identifying areas for improvement - especially if the tutoring takes place alongside the school curriculum. For advanced learners, the tutorials are more student-guided, helping them focus on their interests and fine-tuning their communication skills. I'm always happy to discuss the best learning plans and adapt my tutorials accordingly.
