About Marley

Teaching for me is not only rewarding, but enjoyable. For years I have been working in not only a reputable teaching environment, I have also been engaging in freelance tutoring activities while living in and out of Japan. I have a strong belief in input-based language learning methods, and that tutors should strive to make their students academically independent. My marks: 98/100 Japanese continuers 49/50 Japanese extension 90+ WAM UNSW Computer Science Japanese pitch accent: I have a developed understanding of the fundamentals of Japanese pitch accent and phonetics. Learning with me, you have the option to learn these rules in-depth, which 99% of natives do not consciously understand. If you want to learn how to sound as close to a Japanese person as possible, you have come to the right place. I have succeeded in many areas academically, receiving a 95 ATAR, I also tied rank 1 in Japanese Continuers and Extension. Furthermore, I am maintaining a 90+ WAM at UNSW in computer science. On top of this, I have won the NSW Japanese speaking competition during year 10, in my first attempt, and have skyrocketed my abilities ever since then through effective study techniques.

About the lesson

Native speakers of languages tend to have no idea of how to learn their own language, because they never had to consciously do it. I'll teach you the methods so you never have to hire a language tutor again. I'm not going to be preaching at you, that's not learning. What I will be doing, is questioning you to better develop your understanding. Additionally, I will be providing you with many resources and tools to help you improve your level independently.
