About Elizabeth
Hello!
A recent graduate of the University of Nottingham, I received a first class degree in History and Hispanic Studies with Distinction in Spoken Spanish. I am an enthusiastic and experienced tutor, having taught English abroad in Portugal and Cuba. I am now studying for a MA in Broadcast Journalism at City, University of London, but I miss teaching and want to continue to share my love of languages and history.
As part of my degree, I spent a year living abroad, studying History and Spanish Translation at the University of Havana in Cuba. My time in Cuba means I speak Spanish to a very high level and also have a strong academic understanding of the language. I have also trained in teaching languages at the University of Lisbon in Portugal where I taught English.
I believe that my unique experiences as well as clear enthusiasm for learning makes me a very engaging teacher. I also understand the pressures of the UK education system on young people and know what is needed to succeed academically.
I have also worked as a swimming teacher; a role that is built on trust not just between you and your students but also their parents and I believe that this experience has helped me grow as a tutor.
Above all, I am confident that I have the experience and the enthusiasm to ensure that students reach their full potential and fulfil their ambitions.
