About Tabitha
Hi, I'm Tabitha. I specialise in Latin, Classical Civilisation, and English tuition. I began tutoring online in 2021 and have worked with students from KS2 to A Level. I did my PGCE in 2023. After a year as a full-time teacher, I realised that I missed working with students towards individual goals, and I returned to tutoring.
I’ve worked with:
- A Level Latin and Classical Civilisation students.
- GCSE Latin and English students, from those aiming for top marks, to those who want to strengthen their fundamental skills and understanding.
- EPQ students writing projects on topics ranging from women in sport, to video games, to Elon Musk.
- KS2 and KS3 students, many with EAL, who want to develop their creative writing skills, or who want to discover more about Latin and Classics.
- Students who are applying to new schools and want to build their confidence with English and their general interview skills.
I enjoy anything creative! As well as my Classics degree and PGCE, I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Art: Printmaking. I do art and illustration in my spare time. I also play guitar, piano, flute, and I sing.

As an experienced tutor and teacher, I have excellent subject knowledge and understanding of pedagogy. I know that learning is not linear or the same for everyone. I tailor my lessons to the needs of each student and the qualification they are studying. I work with them towards short-term goals and break down information into manageable chunks. I ask challenging questions while supporting them along the learning path. In this way, they can make progress towards their long-term ambitions.
My favourite aspect of teaching is listening to students’ original ideas and helping them develop these into clear and cohesive answers. With this stimulation and encouragement, every learner can reach their full potential.
My lessons are remote and are usually one hour long.
