I’m Leigh, a dedicated martial arts instructor with over 10 years of teaching experience and a deep background in self-defence law. I specialise in practical, legally-sound self-defence and traditional karate, adapted for real-world application. I’ve taught hundreds of students – from young children to adults – using clear, progressive methods that build confidence, discipline and real skill. My lessons are designed to be accessible, safe, and rewarding for beginners and experienced martial artists alike. I’m also a qualified legal editor and former solicitor, which means the self-defence strategies I teach are not only effective but also lawful and responsible. Whether you're looking to build confidence, improve fitness, or gain a better understanding of personal safety, I can help you reach your goals.

I offer bespoke martial arts and self-defence lessons grounded in traditional karate, adapted for modern, real-world situations. My approach combines structured technique with scenario-based training, always underpinned by a clear understanding of UK self-defence law. Lessons are usually 60 minutes and include warm-up, skill development, practical application and reflection. I tailor every session to the student’s goals—whether that’s confidence-building, fitness, technical improvement or learning effective self-protection. I have over a decade of experience teaching martial arts to children and adults, plus a legal background which ensures everything I teach is both effective and lawful. I'm a black belt instructor, a qualified legal editor, and a TEFL-certified educator. Lessons are suitable for all levels and ages 5+, from beginners to experienced martial artists looking to deepen their knowledge or refine their technique in a supportive and progressive environment.
