I have been a high school band director, judge for music contests and played professionally. I am a good listener and understand student motivation and student learning styles. I believe that music is about expression and feelings. You may feel it differently than I do and that is great. I see music as a discipline that provides attention to details and requires great patience.

We will learn the fundamentals of music that can be applied to other academic subjects and to everyday life. Every lesson is self-paced and we can move as quickly or as slowly as needed. We will try to learn a small piece of a song each lesson so that you can play something and not just do scales and drills. We will have fun!
