About Madeleine
Master in Education teaching French as a second language. I resided in Lille, France for a year studying at the University of Lille where I received a C1 diploma. I took an advanced writing course, two semesters, at école Monde, Quebec. I have taught French to all levels. Adults, high schoolers and children. What does this Masters mean? It means I have learned specific teaching techniques in how to communicate with students and what methods work in learning a new language. I am Swedish but have lived in USA for over 20 years. I have also lived in France. I have taught in public schools in Sweden as well as the US.

French is a tough language, but it is worth the struggle! By the time my students come to me they usually have an urgent French language problem in mind, like going over a complex text for an exam. I invite the student to take a longer-term approach in learning the grammar and feeling comfortable and confident in speaking. It takes practice! No doubt! But I am here to ensure the support and provide the information you need in explaining the complexity of French grammar so that you can proceed to speak fluently while having fun with the language!
