About Toki

I have over 20 years of performance experience, and over 7 years of teaching experience. I recently returned to Brisbane after having graduated from the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo with my Master's degree. In 2020, I graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music with my Bachelor of Music Performance degree. I have my A mus degree from Trinity College London, and have completed up to Grade 6 AMEB Theory.

In recent years, I was the winner of the 4MBS Chamber Prize, Minnie May Bussey Prize, Ruby Cooling Prize and the Basil Jones Sonata Prize. I was also the recieipient of the Margaret Anne Kerrison Pianoforte Prize for the highest exam result in second year and the Queenslander Foundations Prize for the highest exam result in first year at the Queensland Conservatorium. I have performed in the Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition and Festival, Jiri Hlinka Academy in Bergen, the Musical Chairs festival in Canada, the Internationale Kammermusik Festival in Germany, the European Chamber Music Academy in Lithuania, and the Ticino Musica Festival in Switzerland.

I provide piano and music theory lessons for students of all ages and levels. I firmly believe that learning piano is for everyone, and it's never too late to start learning!

I cover everything from basic posture and technique for beginners to interpretation and musicality for advanced students. Each lesson is tailored to each students' individual needs and aspirations. I teach in my studio equipped with a grand piano in Camp Hill, Brisbane.
