About Tia

I am a piano tutor with 8+ years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Collaborative Piano and Chamber Music. I provide lessons tailored to each student’s level and goals, from beginner to advanced and those pursuing mastery.

I focus on pop piano arranging, modern chord voicings, and playing by ear for popular songs. Students learn to develop their own arrangements, improvise melodies, and interpret music with confidence. My teaching style is engaging, supportive, and creative.

I have taught pop, rock, R&B, and contemporary worship music. Lessons combine technique, musical understanding, and practical applications. Students gain skills that allow them to play their favorite songs and explore their own musical ideas.

I emphasize creativity, musical expression, and building confidence at the piano. Together, we explore harmony, chord progressions, and real-world music skills. I invite students to start lessons with me and unlock their full musical potential.

About the lesson

My teaching approach emphasizes building strong sight-reading and rhythmic skills. I focus on speed reading music, interval recognition, and accurate rhythmic execution. Lessons are systematic, enhancing visual-to-finger coordination.

I work with child prodigies and hobbyist adults, providing drills that improve reading fluency and hand independence. Students learn to recognize intervals, read ahead, and play rhythms accurately. Each session balances technical exercises with engaging repertoire.

I guide students through gradually more complex passages to build confidence. Exercises for both hands develop coordination, accuracy, and independence. Students gain the ability to sight-read confidently in any style.

The goal is to help students tackle new pieces effortlessly. Lessons strengthen accuracy, timing, and musical comprehension. Each student leaves more fluent, confident, and expressive at the piano.
