About Tim

I have played guitar and been in bands for over 25 years, but my true passion lies in teaching.
I have my Electric Guitar Grade 8 through RGT and Music Theory Grade 8 ABRSM. I have also studied and earned distinction in a B-Tech in Popular Music.
I love teaching people of any age or abilty or background.
I have no barriers in place and welcome and insist on diversity and equality.
I have years of experience working with neurodiverse students and of being more supportive and understanding where required. I understand the importance and need for a healthy yet creative outlet and I look to instill this within all my students.
I have a life-long love affair of all music, but especially rock, blues and deep passion for techno music. I think my tastes in music are a reflection of my personality; diverse, fun, unique.
I am told that I am enthusiastic, patient, calm and helpful.
I have taught my lessons in the evenings, whilst maintaing a 9 to 5 office job but now I am making the transition to becoming a full time tutor and seek daytime employment. I have taught one of my current students for over 10 years. Even the shortest student relationship I have is well over 5 years. I think this shows that I am loyal, dedicated, consistent, fun and passionate.

About the lesson

I have ran my own tutoring business for over a decade and continue to enjoy the lessons just as much as the first.
Each lesson is an hour long and £25.
I can teach electric or acoustic guitar, as well as other subjects like Music Theory, songwriting, or supporting further learning.
I create and plan short term and long term goals with every student, whilst empowering and motivating them to acheive this. We work hard but have fun along the way, whilst still maintaining professionalism at all times. Every lesson is tailored individually and planned before-hand and structured to aid the learning experience.
I continue to hold a pass rate of 100%.
I balance a mixture of RGT syllabus (and music theory), and supplement this with examples of techniques from popular songs and riffs. I encourage each student to find the performer within themselves and help to push their own limits to achieve their full potential.
