About Clare
I have been working in TEFL since 2005, after initially planning to move to North Africa. However, I instead settled in Brighton UK where I have made a career in community arts and psychology, whilst also continuing teaching English to private students. My community and psychology work often brings me into contact with people from across the globe, and has enabled me to develop novel, innovative and psychologically-informed ways of teaching new skills to students.

With over 20 years of experience teaching both in classrooms and 1-1, I am able to guide you in your English language journey. You may be looking for speaking and listening lessons, bespoke vocabulary for your workplace, or more specialist university entrance and undergraduate preparation. Whatever your needs, I can work with you at whatever level you are to prepare lessons to meet your learning needs and improve your English skills. I will create and use a variety of materials ranging from videos, quizzes, reading or conversation tasks, and set pieces of homework between sessions where you can practise your skills. We will also work together to create a learning and consolidation log of what you have studied so we know where you need more practice and when we can move on to the next level. I aim to make lessons accessible and fun, but challenging and diverse enough to keep you interested and keep extending your skills.
