About Tryphine
I'm a Ph.D. student with 7 years of tutoring English at all levels. I have successfully prepared numerous students for exams such as Sats, +11, GCSE, 'A' Level, the Cambridge exams, TOEFL and IELTS. As well as a Masters degree, I hold a TEFL degree and hope to attain my doctorate in just a few months. I offer 1-1 lessons, group lessons, and online lesson.

I use varying teaching methods in my lessons and the technique I apply to a student depends on their level of comprehension and their primary needs. For example, for a student who needs improvement or confidence and listening abilities, I might choose to use the direct method, also known as the 'oral' or 'natural' method. This technique is based on the direct involvement of the student when speaking, and listening to, the foreign language in common everyday situations. Consequently, there is lots of oral interaction, spontaneous use of the language, no translation, and little if any analysis of grammar rules and syntax.
