About Joanne

I have taught in secondary schools for 20 years and I am a passionate advocate for life long learning. I am experienced in delivering study skills as well as subject content.

Outside of teaching, I am a Mum to 2 small children. I enjoy reading, crafting and musical theatre.

About the lesson

I have 20 years of experience teaching Religious Studies and Philosophy at secondary school level and I specialise in AQA GCSE Religious Studies and OCR Philosophy, Ethics, and Christian Developments, consistently achieving exceptional results. I am also well-versed in adapting my tuition to cater to other exam boards.

My teaching philosophy revolves around placing the student at the center of their learning journey. By fostering a student-centric environment, I am able to impart essential exam and study skills alongside comprehensive content knowledge. This approach not only builds confidence but also equips my students with expert strategies that enable them to attain top grades in their exams.

Approachability and friendliness are integral aspects of my teaching style. I firmly believe that when lessons are enjoyable, remarkable progress can be made in a short span of time. Creating a positive and engaging atmosphere not only enhances comprehension but also encourages students to actively participate in their own learning.

I am confident in my ability to guide and inspire students to achieve their academic goals.
