About Sayan
I am Sayan Ghosh, a Hindustani classical sitar and surbahar musician representing the prestigious Etawah-Imdadkhani Gharana. I began my musical journey with vocal training and later embraced the sitar at the age of 13. I have performed in more than 100 concerts across India and internationally, including four tours in the USA, performances in different states of India, and a featured appearance at the Sur Vasudha concert during the G20 Cultural Summit organized by the Government of India. I have also had the honor of performing for members of the royal family of Tripura. In 2024, I received the Best Music Designer Award at the International Sanskrit Short Film Festival. I am deeply passionate about teaching and share my knowledge with students of all ages through personalized lessons.

In my sitar classes, students learn through a structured yet flexible method designed for both beginners and advanced learners. I focus on building strong fundamentals in right-hand and left-hand technique, understanding raag structure, tone development, and improvisation. Each lesson is personalized according to the student’s pace and goals. I also guide students in musical expression, performance preparation, and developing a deep appreciation of Hindustani classical music.
