About Ridwan

About you

I am an experienced software engineer and Computer Science tutor with an MSc in Computer Science with Distinction and around seven years of professional experience in software development. I have a strong passion for helping people understand technology and develop practical skills.

I am friendly, patient and approachable, and I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I take time to understand each student’s current ability and goals, then tailor my explanations and exercises to their needs.

I also have previous experience teaching and supporting learners, including teaching JavaScript, PHP, React and Git/GitHub. My professional experience means I can connect academic concepts with practical, real-world examples and explain not only how something works, but why it works.

Whether you are completely new to programming or looking to strengthen your existing skills, I will provide a supportive and structured learning environment focused on building your confidence, understanding and independence.

About the lesson

About your lessons

I’m a patient and practical Computer Science and programming tutor with an MSc in Computer Science (Distinction) and around seven years of professional software engineering experience. I also have previous experience teaching and supporting learners in programming.

My teaching approach is to break difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps and then reinforce them through practical examples, exercises and problem-solving. I adapt lessons to each student’s existing knowledge, pace and goals, and encourage students to understand the reasoning behind solutions rather than simply memorising answers.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although I can adapt the length depending on the student’s age, level and learning goals. I can support beginners through to more advanced learners, including students learning programming, Computer Science or web development, as well as learners who want practical guidance with coding projects.

I have previously taught JavaScript, PHP, React and Git/GitHub, and my professional experience allows me to bring real-world software development examples into lessons. My aim is to make learning clear, supportive and practical while helping students become more confident and independent.
