About Jake

About Me I am an experienced and dedicated Physical Education teacher with five years of teaching in inner London secondary schools. I hold a 1st Class Honours degree in Sport, Physical Education and Development from the University of East London, alongside a PGCE in Secondary Physical Education with QTS. My teaching approach is student-focused, blending practical application with academic theory to inspire engagement and achievement in physical education. Throughout my career, I have pursued continuous professional development, completing a variety of qualifications, including a Level 5 in Sports Nutrition, Level 3 certifications in Personal Training, Exercise Referral, and Sports Conditioning, as well as specialised courses in trampolining, parkour, and disability sports. These qualifications, combined with my diverse coaching experience, enable me to deliver dynamic and inclusive lessons tailored to the needs of all learners. Beyond teaching, I bring additional expertise as a Level 3 Sports Conditioning Coach and certified Personal Trainer, with years of experience in the fitness industry. My passion lies in helping students develop their physical skills, build confidence, and achieve their full potential, both in the classroom and beyond.

About the lesson

How I Deliver Tutoring Lessons I design my tutoring sessions to suit the unique needs of each student, ensuring lessons are engaging, supportive, and tailored to their learning style. Whether focusing on GCSE PE or Cambridge Nationals in Sports Studies, I aim to build confidence, deepen understanding, and help students achieve their goals. Each session begins with a quick review of the student’s current knowledge and any areas they’re finding challenging. From there, I create a structured plan, covering both theoretical content and practical application. Lessons typically involve: • Clear explanations: Breaking down tricky concepts into simple, manageable steps. • Real-world connections: Linking theory to practical examples to make the content more relatable and easier to grasp. • Exam strategies: Helping students understand how to approach questions, use time effectively, and master key exam techniques. • Ongoing assessment: Regular check-ins to monitor progress and adjust the focus as needed. I incorporate a mix of resources, including past papers, visual aids, and bespoke materials, to ensure sessions are interactive and varied. My approach is centred on helping students not only achieve top grades but also develop a genuine appreciation for the subject.
