About Tara
I have been teaching for over twenty years and I have experience teaching students from 4th to 12th grade. My heart is in middle school, as that is where I have spent most of my time, but I do enjoy working with the little ones. I hold four degrees, which I believe is a testament to my desire to continue my education. I am passionate about teaching reading, which is why I chose to get my Master's in Reading and my PhD in Literacy. I attribute those degrees to helping make me the teacher I am today.

I believe that learning should be fun! If you decide to work with me, I will teach you strategies that can help with understanding what you read. If you struggle with vocabulary, I have plenty of fun vocabulary activities and games that can fill our time. Lastly, if you are struggling with decoding text, we can start at the beginning and work together to discover the sounds of letters and how they work together to make words. You'll be reading before you know it!
