About Elizabeth
Hello! My name is Elizabeth Stewart and I have worked in early childhood education for 11 years. I am currently a substitute teacher at Pinellas County Schools and I am looking to help tutor students in need.
I love teaching and helping those in need. I also have a lifelong love for learning and work to instill that drive for learning in others. It's wonderful to see others succeed and I teach to witness the big "ah-ha" moments.
I found I had a passion for working with children during my senior year of high school. Right after graduation, I enrolled in my local community college (Northern Virginia Community College) for their Associate program in Early Childhood Development and also started full time work at a local preschool. I continued working in private schools after completing my Associates and later decided to go back to school to complete a Bachelors in Education, Behavioral and Social Sciences, and Cognitive Science from the University of Central Florida. I love teaching and learning.
I have a Bachelors degree in Education, Behavioral and Social Sciences, and Cognitive Science from the University of Central Florida. I have taken and passed the Florida Teacher Certification Exam in Elementary K-6 Science and Social Science subtests. I will take the FTCE's subtests in Math and Language Arts on September 1st to be a fully certified Florida Elementary Education teacher. I also have an Associates degree in Early Childhood Development and 11 years experience working and teaching students aged 1-14 in private school settings.

I like to get to know a new student first and understand what their strengths and weaknesses are, and where they need the most support. After introducing ourselves to each other, I would use a diagnostic test to see where we would need to start at.
