Coach Simmons was honest and encouraging. He never put down any of you mistakes but rather made you see how they could be improved. He made practice fun and really pushed you to reach your limits.
What made him different from coaches I've seen is that he works beyond just fundamentals like stamina and court endurance. He works on overall methods and plays you could use on court. I would recommend taking his advice and pushing your own limits. overall he is a great coach and someone you should definitely talk to as a second opinion on your play style or overall performance would help you in the long run.
He is Nice, Hardworking, Caring, and Patient. He also is a very good coach.
He was a very kind and patient coach. He trusted that we could do the best we could and always believed in us. My experience with him as coach was a very fun one as he always made me want to have fun while making sure I improved my game.
I liked that Coach Simmons always gave good constructive criticism whenever we were playing or practicing skills. He also is very patient with us. Whenever we didn't understand a play he would always explain it to us again instead of becoming frustrated. He is also very positive and optimistic, which makes him a great basketball coach.
Coach Simmons was always there for me. Whether I needed help on a certain part of my game, or needed help creating or executing a play, he would always help. He helped me extend my outside shot, he helped me control my temper.
Mr.Simmons was my Coach before I made it to Varsity, he helped me gain the experience needed to play at a tournament level.
He uses proper professional drills and PT.
5 stars from meCoach Simmons is an awesome teacher and coach. He works well with the kids and always has a positive attitude. Coach Simmons will help the kids work hard on their skills all while keeping basketball a fun game. He also has a great sense of humor and can take a joke as well as he gives one.
He has been a super coach (& favorite) to our daughter with down syndrome who loves to play basketball with her older siblings and has been the coach for both our older son and daughter.Mr. Simmons is one of the many coaches I've had. He was always so positive and radient, both in practice and during the games. He dilegently works with individuals and the group in order to showcase players full potential. Altought he is very kind and understanding. He has high standards for his players and demands for them to work hard.
He's genuinely committed to his athletes. His passion for the sport comes across in every practice and training. He's open to new ideas and very encouraging. I'm going to miss coach Simmons a whole lot!!
What I liked most about Coach Simmons in my time with him, was his patience and ability to bring out the best in every player. Unlike previous coaches I had in the past, Coach Simmons was always willing to allow us to make mistakes and would help us learn from them to unlock our potential. He would have immense trust in all of his players and would run an egalitarian system where everyone was treated equally, allowing all of us to prove ourselves - from the 6 year veteran to the 9th grade rookie. Finally, he was also as good as a mentor off the court which allowed players to trust him and build a strong bond.
I played basketball with my dad (Coach Simmons) for both varsity and JV seasons. Not only is he a fair coach who treats each player with the respect they deserve, he is willing to be there for the team no matter what. He is both fun and encouraging while also expecting each player to give their all, just like he does.
