About Mike

After being a successful computer parts sales rep for 15 years I chose teaching after the dot coms went bust in 2001. Ever since then it has been a calling to me that I find interesting and exciting every day. I love working with kids in the classroom or as apart of coaching.

18 years as a Certified teacher in Florida, Georgia, Iowa and International in Business Education, MS Social Science, MS Science and Educational Leadership.

About the lesson

Evaluate what the student needs help in. Formulate a plan with the student. Execute the plan.

I’ve worked with students of all levels, from ELL students to IB Diploma Program students and everyone in between.

Hire the ones that make the material relatable. Teaching from a text is not the answer. You need to understand the concepts so you can answer any type of question.

I loved the Inter Disciplanary Unit of the Human Development Index with the Math Department. Students had to expand on what the numbers they were getting meant to the world. After the report was finished hey had to teach Grade 4’s about Trade, Aid and Poverty. It was awesome to see the Grade 4s learning from the Grade 9s and vice versa. Fun was had by all.
