About Sandra

Hello,

Everyone wants to eat a good pork chop, buttermilk fried chicken wings or my three level collard greens!

It's like eating Sunday dinner everyday! I was born and raised by Alabama and Mississippi cooking parents. They had me messing around in the kitchen since I was 13 years old, cleaning chitterlings and making peach cobblers.

I can also teach college students how to eat good on a small budget.

Ladies, come and talk to me about that first meal you want to cook for your boo. We can come up with the perfect menu that will leave him/her wanting more!

I wanted to learn to fix my own fried chicken because I got tired of waiting for my mom to fix it on certain days.

So I started getting in the kitchen with some of the best cooks in our family to learn how to use the spices to make the food POP!

My training comes from my Grandfather, Joe Brown who owned a smoked bbq restaurant in Alabama back in the 1960's.

His customers would line up around the block to get in his establishment because of his smoked bbq aroma through the neighborhood.

His recipes have been carefully handed down through the family.

About the lesson

My process for new students:

1. I need to find out who you are.

2. Do you want to learn how to cook for one night or for a lifetime.

3. Are you cooking on a budget?

4. Do you want to learn how to use the spices to enhance your meals?

Once we figure out what you're trying to do, then we can map out your route and how fast I can get you confident about cooking your first meal.

I've worked with single moms and women who run to fast food and take out instead of getting in the kitchen.

Be prepared to learn a new skill. Ladies, guys look women who know their way around the kitchen. And guys, women love to see a man with an apron on.

Wow, there are too many to name. I think my best time of year is Mother's Day weekend and the Super Bowl. It does not matter what team is playing, I always setup the kitchen like a concession stand.

We our family comes in I'll have two tables of the following items;

Popcorn in bags, cotton candy, all types of candy, juices in the water bucket, fried wings, bbq wings and other finger foods in the paper containers that you would get at the the hotdog stands.
