How do we best communicate?
Stay at home or single moms. Single dads. A kitchen with six small kids who wanted to help cut up Brussel Sprouts for dinner. A young teen who really wants to own her own restaurant.
I usually stay on scene as long as my skills are needed. After that, it is their kitchen to do with as they wish.
Be clear as to why you are requesting training. Is your goal achievable with the time you have available.
The whole process becomes a lot easier when we negotiate the details up front. I hope that our reality of this training blends well with your expectations of the training.
When the meal is prepared and served, the tabled is cleared, and dishes are done. I finally sit down and a guest turns to me and asks "so what's for dessert?"

My standard pricing comes as a request that you suit up and show up for the agreed upon training.
(This applies to me, as well.)
Invest in a properly sized knife for your grip, a cutting board, a sharpening stone and oil, washable kitchen towels, and a first aid kit. And properly fitting disposable gloves (nitrile is a good choice).
