About Cassandra

I have always dreamt of becoming a dance teacher. On July 2017, I fulfilled that lifelong dream! I specialize in teaching fun traditional Scottish Highland dancing. I have over 22+ years of competitive dance training in Highland dancing and over 10 years of teaching experience. Think of kilts, bagpipes, and swords! I offer fun group classes for kids 18 months old and up. Special Adults only classes are also offered.

I love every moment I spend in a dance studio! My life long passion is dancing and teaching. Sharing my passion with my students fills me with so much joy and happiness!

I began teaching under two incredible dance teachers, Academy of Scottish Dance and Spokane's School of Highland Dance. My love of dance developed when I stepped foot in the dance studio and has never dimmed since.

22+ years as a competitive Highland dancer

10 years teaching experience

Certified Highland Dance instructor from Scotland, RSOBHD

Certified Highland Dance instructor from the British Association of Teachers of Dance

Current nursing degree major

About the lesson

I offer each new dancer a free dance class. This way they can try it out and see if they would like to come back next week. I have never not taken on a new student.

I have worked with Special Needs: Down Syndrome, ADD/ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Type 1 Diabetics, Lyme Disease.

Most students are healthy and very few have had any major health issue. I also let my students tell me if they are sick or hurting. I modify to accommodate ALL needs.

Have fun! Having fun is most important in doing anything. My goal at the end of each class is for everyone to have had fun dancing together.

My studio motto is: "Dancing comes from the heart."

You'll catch me at most Highland Games in the summer time through the PNW!

There is never a bad or stupid question. First, be upfront with any concerns you may have, whether it be health or what to wear or bring to a Highland dance class.
